MoonHill (YueLiangShan) Village

In front of the MoonHill, surrounded by many magnificant karst peaks, this village of farmers is the best place to explore the nearby YuLong river valley in a relaxing and natural environment. The old village is just a few kilometers from Yangshuo, enough to avoid the noise and polution of the cars. Here the scenery of the rice paddies is like hundreed years ago, you can see farmers planting rice with ox, irrigating lush fields, washing clothes in the local river like if the time has stopped. The village offers some facilities for tourists coming from the MoonHill: tour guides, local restaurants, two famous caves and the re-emergence of a pristine cave river.

XingPing Fishing Village

XingPing is busy during Market day but otherwise, it is a fairly relaxed spot with beautiful walks near the river and a few attractions (incl. a cave and a fishing village visited by Bill Clinton in 1998, accessible by boat). Accommodations are available so it is a good alternative for those who wish to relax in a more authentically Chinese atmosphere. Xing Ping Fishing Village: Apart from the well preserved Ming Dynasty architecture and wood carving dating back more than five hundred years, Xing Ping is worth seeing for its natural Feng Shui alone. Surrounded by seven mountains, with two stone guardians at the village entrance keeping the modern world at bay from this highly spiritual place. Xingping, boasts even better scenery than Yangshuo, particularly from a hill top pagoda near the wharf Pavillion.
